Dance-School: teacher-training courses focused on public schools. In this project teachers are able to learn dance and its relationships with education and society, based on Dr. Marques proposal “context-based dance education”. In 2002 this project was supported by UNESCO. Rudolf Laban today: practical and theoretical courses aiming at understanding Laban principals in the light of the 21st century. The courses focus on creating and recreating dance and its possibilities in dialogue with society. Methodological approach of the “context-based dance education” created and developed by Dr. Marques. Poetry Presents: practical and theoretical courses aiming at understanding the language of poetry in relation to art history and society. Reading and appreciating poems. Interactive performances relating poetry, teaching, and contemporary society. This project also relates poetry and the understanding of Greek Mythology. Body Voices: courses on Somatic Education and its relationships with making and doing dance as art. Somatic Movement, Pilates, Feldenkrais, Alexander. Guest teachers: Rose Akras (Holland/Brazil), Soraya Sabino, Márcia Martins, Ana Terra, Raquel Pires. Visitor´s Room: artist in residence for two months in dialogue with Caleido´s students, environment and projects ending with a dance performance open to the general public. In the past three years have visited Caleidos: Soraya Sabino, developing the relationship between contemporary dance and the work of Kandinsky; Sheila Ribeiro (dona orpheline danse – Canada/Brazil) did a choreographic installation discussing and dancing the reality shows; Juliana Moraes explored the body distortion and fragmentation in contemporary dance in her performance "Três Tempos". Caleidos dance Co.: founded in 1996 by Dr. Isabel Marques with the aim to relate dance as a performing art and education through interactivity. Since 2002 the company also carries projects relating dance and poetry and not necessarily educational. The company has presented in several cities in Brazil, Canada and Portugal. In 2003 the company received an award for the work SILÊNCIO (Silence) - a dance performance in dialogue with Fabio Brazil’s poem by the same name. Caleidos teacher´s Co.: founded in 2003 by Dr. Marques, the company gathers public school teachers with no previous experience in dance in order to give them both, artistic and educational experience to teach dance at schools. This is also a research project part of a larger project conducted at the Department of Dance and Theatre Pedagogy of the Theatre Academy of Finland named “Challenging the notion of Knowledge”, The first work of the company was Voices of School , presented in several theaters in the city of São Paulo. In 2004 the company received a small support by Cortez Editora, Brazil. Founded in the City of São Paulo, Brazil, in the year of 2001 by Dr. Isabel Marques and Fábio Brazil, Caleidos Art and Teaching enlarged the aims of the Caleidos Dance Co., founded in 1996, not only by giving it a place to rehearse and perform, but mainly opening up opportunities for more people to join its dance projects in conjunction with poetry and the other Arts. Since then the place has become a gathering site for teachers, artists and the general public interested in making, doing, appreciating and relating the arts and society. In 2002, Caleidos Art and Teaching received UNESCO´s support to conduct a teacher training course in dance from which some public school teachers were invited to found the Caleidos Teacher’s Co. The company has performed its firts dance piece, VOICES OS SCHOOL, with Marly Cairoli, Fátima Coelho, Solange Castro, Eliana Caetano, Ana Lúcia Bosco, and Iza Anacleto in 2004. The Caleidos Dance Co. continues producing and presenting its works at the Caleidos Art and Teaching, directed by Isabel Marques and Fábio Brazil: SILENCIO (with Soraya Sabino and Marcos Moraes), GAIOLA! (with Fernanda Gusso and Renata Faria), COREOLÓGICAS III (with Fernanda Gusso, Fernanda Mascarenhas, Luciana Nunes and Fabíola Neves) and LUGAR COMUM (with Fernanda Mascarenhas and Charles de Santana), now also interacting dance and poetry. In the past five years Caleidos Art and Teaching has received students from several states of Brazil during its Summer and Winter Courses as well as prestigious national and international visitors – Dr. Ana Mae Barbosa (Brazil), Dr. Susan Stinson (USA), Dr. Valerie Preston-Dunlop (GB), Dr. Ana Macara (Portugal), Dr. Ausonia Donato (Brazil), Dr. José Fusari (Brazil), Dr. M. de Fátima Abdalla.
